    Khyber College of Dentistry took a modest start in 1964 as a department of Khyber Medical College Peshawar. It was upgraded to the status of independent institution in 1990. From its inception till 2006 it was affiliated with University of Peshawar. In 2007, Khyber Medical University came into being and since then Khyber College of Dentistry is affiliated with it. Pakistan Medical & Dental Council accorded permanent recognition of an undergraduate program titled “Bachelor of Dental Surgery” degree in its session held in Dacca (Bangladesh), the Capital of the then East Pakistan in November, 1968.

    Currently KCD offers the following undergraduate programs

    1. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)

    Besides KCD also offers specialized training as a Postgraduate Program(s) mentioned as under

    1. Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (DCD)
    2. Member of College of Physician and Surgeons (MCPS)
    3. Fellow of College of Physician and Surgeons (FCPS)
    4. MCPS (Family Dentistry)
